Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 July 2026

1. The service

TAXCLARA is a household finance and tax companion for people in Portugal, operated by CYBER MIND Unipessoal LDA (“we”, “us”). It reads financial documents with AI, organizes your transactions, bills, and budgets, and produces estimates of your Portuguese tax picture. It is available as a web application and an iOS app. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts and workspaces

You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. Data lives in workspaces; if you invite members to a workspace, they can see and edit the financial data in it — invite only people you trust with that data. You can remove members and delete your account at any time from Settings.

3. Bank connections

Where available, bank connections use a PSD2-regulated open banking provider (Enable Banking). Authorization happens at your bank, consents are time-limited, and you can revoke them at any time. Bank data is provided as-is by your bank; availability of connections depends on your bank and may change.

4. AI output and tax estimates

TAXCLARA uses AI to read documents and to compute tax figures. This makes the product useful, but it has limits you accept by using it:

  • AI document reading can make mistakes — review extracted amounts, items, and categories, especially before relying on them.
  • All tax figures (withholding, deductions, refunds, salary breakdowns) are estimates based on the data you entered and published Portuguese tax rules. They are not tax, legal, or financial advice, and they do not replace e-Fatura, the Portal das Finanças, or a certified accountant (contabilista certificado).
  • You remain responsible for your tax filings and financial decisions.

5. Free tier and paid plans

TAXCLARA is currently free to use, with a monthly limit on AI document scans (because each scan has a real processing cost). We may introduce paid plans and adjust free-tier limits; if we do, we will announce it in advance and never take away access to data you already added.

6. Acceptable use

Use TAXCLARA only for its intended purpose and only with data you are entitled to process. Do not attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to process other people’s data without their permission.

7. Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CYBER MIND Unipessoal LDA is not liable for damages arising from use of the service, including data inaccuracies, incorrect estimates, interrupted bank connectivity, or decisions made based on the app’s output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Portuguese or EU law.

8. Termination

You can stop using TAXCLARA and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On deletion, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes, law, contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and the European Union. Questions: support@taxclara.pt.
